How not to be a Demon
(cat edition)
A YA fantasy novel

Some say that teenage years are hell. For Hades, the Devil’s goddaughter, it’s literally true. Convinced that she is actually human, she begs to go to Earth to search for her origins. But only when she accidentally (really!) incites an uprising of the souls can she escape to a sleepy Bavarian town by snatching a cat fur (which, of course, is faulty). Cat-shaped, alone, and hungry, her only hope might be Marei, the only human she can communicate with.
School-paper journalist Marei still hopes that the pen is mightier than the sword as she plans her own escape from bullies and the voices she (surely) imagines, especially when a talking cat starts to follow her around.

As Hades tries to convince Marei she’s not a hallucination but a demon—and possibly human in a forgotten past—the two unravel secrets that link their fates. When a mysterious winter deity baits Hades, Marei realizes that she might have fallen for a demon. A game of cat and mouse ensues. But who is the mouse?
